About Mocky

Mocky Khan
Your County Council candidate for Didcot South
Hello! I’m Mocky Khan, your Labour candidate for Didcot South division in the Oxfordshire County Council elections on May 1.
I’m standing for Didcot South because I passionately believe in Labour & Co-operative values and have always striven to serve my community according to those principles. Born in Bangladesh, I moved to the UK as a young child, and grew up in Hampton, Greater London. My early years taught me the importance of resilience and advocacy, as I often acted as a spokesperson for my parents. These experiences shaped my drive to help others navigate challenges and have their voices heard.
Over a decade ago, I chose to make Didcot my home, and I’m proud of the deep connections I’ve built here. I’ve been privileged to serve as a Trustee for local charities, including the amazing Play2Give, and as a school governor at Didcot Girls’ School, championing opportunities for young people. Through these roles, I’ve seen first hand the power of community and the importance of investing in our shared future.
I’ve also rolled up my sleeves and worked on issues that matter most to us in Didcot South. Whether it’s campaigning to save allotment lands from development, fighting to prevent flooding, providing hot lunches through the Didcot Community Kitchen or pushing for improvements to our leisure provisions, I’ve always been committed to enhancing our community and protecting and supporting those who need help. The insights gained through my background as a chartered marketer and small business owner help me inform and support local employers, producers, and retailers, and the custodians of our beautiful natural environment.
Promoting and caring for the Didcot South community as your county councillor would be a great honour. I’m a listener above all, and I’m here to reflect your needs and aspirations at County Hall. If you meet me and my team out campaigning, please do come and say hello - I’d love to hear from you. And if we haven’t crossed paths yet, don’t hesitate to contact me through this website, on social media, or in response to one of our leaflets or calling cards. Together, we can build a brighter future for Didcot South.
